5101可俯瞰中央公園、East River(東河)和Hudson River(哈德遜河)。

The Four Seasons will house the two most luxurious hotel suites in the whole of New York City, designed by famous architect I.M. Pei and equally renowned designer Peter Marino.
|
  |
The suites are located on the 51st floor, the penultimate floor of the world-renowned hotel in Manhattan. The height of the rooms, 183 meters up, envelops you in the sky when you look out the windows. The view is one of the most breathtaking in New York, and it allows you a sweeping view of what many of its residents say is the “best city in the world.”

The Four Seasons was designed by I.M. Pei. From its opening in 1993, it has been known for being constructed of Magny stone, like the Louvre Museum in Paris, its cathedral-like appearance and its artistic interior design. It is the standard for New York’s luxury hotels. There are 367 rooms in the hotel, which cost US$360 million to construct.
The original owner of the hotel did not accept Pei’s advice to make the top floor the presidential suite because it would not be profitable. But in 1999, Warner, who had become rich by marketing the massively successful Beanie Babies stuffed toys, bought the Four Seasons. He hoped to build a unique and matchless luxury hotel suite in the Four Seasons. He said he wanted to build something that would make other hotels speechless.
I.M. Pei began remodeling the floor by demolishing all the old horizontal windows and replacing them with 10-meter-high glass French windows. He added a balcony in each corner to heighten and widen the view. It is a truly great design from a real master of architecture.
Peter Marino was put in charge of the interior decoration. He had designed the private residences of many top executives from top fashion companies, including Giorgio Armani, Chanel, and LVMH. He said, “Ty Warner doesn’t want to have a space which resembles other famous places. All the building materials here are the very best. All the things are designed only for this suite.”
The two presidential suites, named Suite 5101 and Suite 5102, are completed different in style. Long leather sofas and lounges and a rose puce Chio marble fireplace are all in Suite 5101, which is elegant but laidback like a library or cigar house. A thick brown carpet woven in a spiral pattern sits on the ebony hardwood floor. The pile of the carpet is 5 centimeters in depth, and so soft and comfortable that it is like walking on a cloud. |
The exciting Suite 5102, however, is more like a luxurious club. It is furnished with a long table, deck chairs and a baby grand piano. The yellow, gold and cashew-colored bathroom looks as if it was chiseled out of a beautiful piece of agate stone. Luxury is present everywhere in the suite.
Both suites have a spectacular view of Manhattan. Suite 5101 overlooks Central Park, the East River and the Hudson River, while Suite 5102 enjoys a view of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building, with a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from its luxurious bathroom.
The rate for each suite is US$15,000 a night. It may be one of the most expensive hotel suites in New York, even perhaps in the whole United States, though that list does not include the even more exclusive Ty Warner Penthouse, which will be open at the end of the year. The Penthouse has become a hot topic in the worldwide high-class hotel industry. It was also designed by Peter Marino and is still under construction. According to Marino, it will contain luxury unheard of in even the most exclusive presidential suites. The Ty Warner Penthouse occupies 300 square meters and the rate is US$30,000 per night. It has already been reserved by several guests! (Translation by 李琴Amy LI) |
